It appears you are not aware of the difference between Opes Prime and a normal broker
Using a normal broker even a small one you are at very little risk if the broker falls over. And there is an insurance fund that protects investors in this situation.
Opes Prime were not a normal broker.
With Opes Prime clients "lent" stock to them and could use the equity value of this lent stock to take larger leveraged stock positions in the same companies or other companies.
Not something Charmicheals would let you do
