Those 40MW numbers are similar to mine. So seems reasonable.
No doubt you should start small. Critical issue for all potential syngas makers is demonstrating this can be done reliability for months to supply the downstream equipment. That means both quantity and quality. To my mind none of the hopefuls have published anything very meaningful on this aspect - LNC published some production figures but no composition variation etc. So for me this is still the major unknown. If you look back into previous trials in the US and USSR the composition can vary alot and quickly. But this can be mitigated I feel by operating parallel reactors. The impact of this subsurface variation on the syngas quality is ultimately the uncertainty preventing the big players - ie major oil and coal companies - from just buying these guys out completely in one bite. That might come, if they are successful, or not as the case may be.
