I was of the opinion that if a company has information that they believe may have an impact on the SP, they are obliged to call a halt prior to its release. Does anyone know if this is true? I think it is part of the ASX rules ?????

I feel it has to be positive news as the downside would be too traumatic for too many stake holders, and would have significant flow ons to other companies and sectors.
