Sorry for the delay in replying but I only check in here about once a month unless there is something important goig on.

I have been with ETrade UK about 8 months and only carried out one trade. I have not been charged anything so far except the brokerage for the one trade.

The system is similar to CHESS. ETrade hold the shares and will sell to order. It takes 3 days to get get the money. The information on Etrade UK is 15 minute delayed for me but I can get up to the minute information from ADVFN before the UK opens and until NY opens which at present is about 11 pm Qld time and 1pm UK time. I can't get market depth. There are some good features in ETrade UK but up to date market information is not good.
