I've seen quite a bit of discussion related to mining costs, recently. I have also seen a lot of bickering over numbers, and though sometimes it looks like one party (or both) have no idea what they are talking about, it appears that more often than not, posters are arguing due to two things, including:

1. Not appreciating that costs are usually being expressed in Australian Dollars while spodumene/LiCO3/LiOH prices are usually expressed in US Dollars.
2. A lack of understanding the cost nomenclature, i.e., one or both parties not understanding the difference between C1 costs, C2 costs or AISC.

Rather than take a stab at it, myself, especially when I believe there are several posters that know this topic better than myself, I wanted to share an explanation by the experts.
