No no, your missing what im looking for. I want to read the commodity chart to see if the commodity is at support or resistance etc. So then I will only enter stocks of a commodity that is on support and exit stocks that are approaching resistance of a commodity.
I definately do need to be able to read commodity charts so I can then pick which stock is likely to have a better chance of moving.
If the gold chart is at the bottom of an ascending channel, then I would look for gold stocks. If copper was at the top of an ascending channel, I wouldnt go buying copper stocks all for the reasons youve mentioned. Its about predicting where the commodity price will most likely move next.
