i use gft for my charting and trading.
sounds like our trading thoroughs are similar. i always look at the commodity chart before i look at the co chart (same time frames, eg daily). i do trade commodity cfds.
you are right, you have to have a feel for the direction of the underlying commodity before determining the possible direction of the share price.
if trading ncm look at the gold chart, if trading bhp look at a commodity index chart etc, it all depends if the co mainly produces one commodity or a number of commodities.
yesterday i posted a chart on wpl, tonight i will post a chart on oil, why, for the same reasons you have highlighted, to increase the chances of a profitable trade.
