I have a trading question (Game theory question)

Let's take an oil trading company with 1000 shares. The shares are being sold at $6.

The management decide to issue another 1000 shares at $0.6 on a 1:1 basis

The price of the original shares are now being sold at $0.6 on the market.

A share holder has 100 shares and is being asked to buy another 100. The share holder has $60 in spare cash burning a hole in his pocket.

Is it better for the share holder to buy the extra shares or buy the same amount on the market ?

That is, its it economically better for that share holder to soak up the weak hands with his $60 and there be fewer shares than give the management the $60 and claim new shares?
