Word is the landfill is at least 6 months away if money is made available to finish the job. Due to amount of time unattended there will be some deterioration and exposure of liners so repair work will be needed also. Very unlikely Maddington will ever reopen as a C&D recycling facility (at least under the current ownership). Rumour mill suggests the steel guys (RPS) are gradually taking over the yard. Interesting that RPS is operated by one of the guys responsible for sending the original M8 business (Aurigen I think) to the wall......
DWER... What is happening to the 000's of tonnes of waste currently still sitting on the Maddington site? Who will pay for transport and disposal... not to mention levy!,
