Hi shesez, most of the numbers I mentioned in that strategy were based on calculating the monthly return when the market ended the year flat. It is a dumb pump strategy. A greater yearly gain is achieved if the asx200 switches direction at the start/end of each month (which often happens, see here). I haven't done the backtesting on my suggestions for making the pump smarter yet. I will do that shortly and post the results on this thread. When the market is risky (like now, eg recession???), don't use GEAR. Use 50% Cash & 50% A200 - or stay 100% cash until the risk subsides.
