Yes your description sounds like a good approach for most traders, especially if they choose to watch many pairs at the same time. If its a winning method, own it.
I also recommend setting up some form of alarm system which "dings" when a M1 spike moves into a zone.
However I personally also trade with Hidden Targets so I only need to follow 3-4 pairs (even thought my computer dings at me all night).
I need a split screen - M15 on left and M1 on right. I also need a H4 & H1 charts in tabs that slot into the left hand side of the chart when needed.
