I am wondering if those here are interested in establishing a thread to compare/discuss trading ideas? A bit like the Daytrading forum but not with the same fever pitch.

The Mowerman has been interested in trading for many years.
Some years ago I went part time with work with the intention of trading for a living. (Tried day trading, short term, CFD)I lost a bit but did make a profit in my second year. It was not enough for a living so I did more "real work" and forgot about trading.
After a year or so with no trading I decided to come back to CFD's with a more LT attitude. ( I used to micro trade on small moves. Mostly lost.) My new relaxed method is based on daily candles, EMA (10,20,30) and MACD. I watch mainly blue chips but are more interested in trading indices, gold, and Forex. I know, market makers stuff. I have experienced the bounces to gobble up your stops. I am looking at bigger stops.
My main signal is a MACD cross, then looking at where the candles are wrt the EMA lines. The MACD can cross back and forward while the candles and EMA stay in trend. I am still working on my plan so have been paper trading for a while.
    My current Positions.
    REAL: ASX 200 Short from 4500. 8/11/13

PAPER: GOLD Short from 1321. 4/11/13
FTSE Short from 6666. A difficult entry this one. A big red candle then big green. The MACD crossed but the candles were still above the EMA 10. This would have been a brave entry. See daily chart from 6/11/13 to 11/11/13.
    I welcome comments,
    Cheers
    Mower
