I can now see the reason for the sell off.
A web site called Matley Fool has sent a letter and published "5 stocks I would AVOID at all costs (click here)" yesterday. (you may need subscription)

I think this web site fools the fools because they give wrong info.
The stocks are:

HOT (Hotcopper)
SKY and Space Global Ltd (SAS.ASX)
XPED Ltd (XPE.ASX)
Slater & Gordon Limited (ASX: SGH)
Mustang Resources Limited (ASX: MUS)
Greenpower Energy Limited (ASX: GPP)

It says "Greenpower is developing technology to convert coal to liquid which will “produce greenhouse-gas free chemicals and products from coal”. However, in the first half of 2017 the company also acquired a part interest in a Guyanese lithium exploration project. Wow, turning coal into liquid sounds awesome and everyone knows lithium is a great investment right now. No wonder the share price is up 600% in the last six months."

Wrong information; GPP didn't gt lithium assets at the first half of 2017.

I can see someone is trying to push GPP down to buy it in. I don't know who, but I can guess.
I can't think  of anyone who is the enemy of HOT (Hotcopper) and GPP?
This might be someone who is very keen to buy in GPP.
