The CSEN Pencil Point Spinal Needle is designed to facilitate the delivery of anaesthetic solution into the subarachnoid space via a laterally placed hole in the needle tip. The needle separates dural fibres rather than cutting them to reduce incidence of spinal headache. The needle is inserted through an introducer until it pierces the dura. Confirmation of its placement in the subarachnoid space is when Cerebrospinal Fluid is obtained through the hub of the spinal needle.
