Managed to get a hold of the report that was released Monday week ago - with the gib sell off. One calc. was based on forecasted earnings for 04. They used the factor of 4.8 x EBITDA to determine market value.
One interesting point is that in a sentence prior to their P&L Summary to calculate earning they write this line ...quote ' we estimate BSL earnings would be c$345-350m for FY 04E vs the $280m we are forecasting below (in the P&L summary)'.
Unbelievable, they appear to have added the last line post calculation. Using their new estimates the market value moves from $ 3.90 up to $4.80 using the number of outstanding shares as at June 2003. This estimate moves into line with the JP morgan valuation.
