Youre missing the point. Not being able, or willing, to communicate a date and stick to it is an indication of poor management.
They could have communicated that they would report after close on the 30th Aug (the last reporting date) but they didn't. Instead they chose to communicate nothing and wait till the last possible moment. None of the reasons for choosing that option reflect positively on management.
