Totally agree that the stock market is in the grip of "the machines". Not sure what can be done about it, since the high frequency trading/algos, order spoofing etc have been around for a long time and the vested interests have no intention of changing the status quo because they profit from it. I don't doubt for one minute that the big players have access to all the number crunching they need to push the little guys around.
We are like pilchards swimming with the sharks, but we can take advantage of their tactics and still get a feed from time to time.
