I and many others, including some reputable ResourceStocks writers, thought that the POG was being manipulated. The charts simply did not look right.

My theory was that the POG was manipulated by Mr Bush, to show the world that he left the job with US$ strong and POG low. The recent increase, since Obama is in the job, appears to support this "long shot" guess, as the strange chart behaviour is gone.

Just another speculation to throw in...
