simgrund - hi - thanks for the good wishes - Yes Beethoven initially dedicated his 2nd symphony (Eroica) to good ole Nappy - and scribbled it out angrily as soon as Napoleon had himself crowned Emperor. Beethoven week this week on ABC Classics.
I can't listen to classical music all day - I find it takes too much emotional 'sap' from me - also can't concentrate on anything else I happen to be doing, which needs concentration. For peace of mind I like baroque music - Vivaldi being a favourite. I have just discovered that my new (but second-hand) car, a Ford Falcon XR6 - has a radio which gives a running description of every piece of music playing on ABC Classics - I am thrilled with this feature.
