    Hi trent: - the total opposite to your other 'taste' - strange - I don't like meaningless noise, especially if it's just played to show off 'something' ie.: masculinity, testosterone - aggression - but I guess it's a safety valve of sorts.
    Turning point - away from classical music - for me was Bob Marley, but can't say I kept up with the popular scene; classical music is enough (even the modern more 'out there' type) to fill one's life. Ah yes, I was blown away by Queen, long after they became famous.

    I have just listened to my first ever Opera I heard at age 13 - "The Flying Dutchman", still amazed at the music, although Wagner is an acquired taste for me and athogh I like his 'showy' pieces, I prefer the quieter ones (e.g. Tristan and Isolde).
