AND he tried to stop the brave people who tried to put the flames out and help the poor woman. This was cold blooded murder, imo.

Don't think anybody disputes or disagrees with that.
In my own life I've had firearms shoved in my face on three occasions by five different people and I've also had a threat to smash my head in with a truck tyre lever.
How I managed that situation instead of saying "you can't do that, your wrong if you do" is why I'm here today. I'm not here because what they had in mind was the wrong thing to do.
Many on this thread have tried to discuss the aspects of the system and how managing situations could be improved. Each time they do, there are zeolites that just want to blame anybody that has an opinion contrary to their own.
Let's not get it wrong, the guy is a monster for murdering his children................ there is no excuse for doing that.
By the way, a Farmer down near Lockhart murdered his wife, three children and then drove himself into the farm dam.
The sister of that lady was on a Farmer Wants a Wife (she was up Tumbarumba way .... maybe Mannus) .............. know of them but not directly.
Anyway, this situation received a totally different reception from the Public................. why is that? The bloke is still a dog for murdering his whole family, no ifs no buts and mental health issues is no excuse.
If you want to Top yourself do it ............... but leave other innocent parties out of it. Pure Selfishness in its ugliest form.

A New South Wales man whose main intention was suicide, also killed his wife and children because he believed it would "[spare] them future pain", a coronial inquest has been told.
Kim Hunt, 41, and her children Fletcher, 10, Mia, 8, and Phoebe, 6, were found dead on their farm in Lockhart in September 2014.
The body of 44-year-old Geoff Hunt — Kim's husband, and the children's father — was found a day later in a nearby dam. A gun was found beside his body.
