Hard to fathom at times but article explains uses of Naltrexone (which OBJ/3M are trialing for transdermal delivery because it may be preferable to oral and dosage by injection.

NTX is a powerful drug used to combat alcoholism and barbituate dependency, among other illnesses.

Oral/IV dosage is not satisfactory for treating alcoholism due to NTX's effect on the liver but transdermal delivery by-passes it and is absorbed straight into the patient's immune system.

I'm not a doctor but have a read of this article and you might come to the conclusion that OBJ tecnology could interest 3M....let's hope the trial of it is successful.
