Back in Nov I had posted something along this lines......

I had consulted a scientist who happened to head the cancer research in sydney + she is a professor + many other things and very reliable, about OBJ's transdermal patch and gave a print out of all the information I could gather about this and asked her for her professional opinion.

Her comments were that it has a technology to slow and controlled release the medication into the human body which is a great thing. Right now many medicines which are generally give by a needle is not as effective if only it could be slow released into the blood stream. An example she said was of vaccination. A sudden release of antibodies of some disease into a healthy person via a needle is not very good but since there is not much of a technological advance since the 1800's and so needle's has been the main form of vaccination. She did confirm later that there are talks about this patch within their industry circle and if proven right might can make a medical marvel. Patches has been in the market for over a decade and improving but something what OBJ has managed to do is something different.
Also other main point to be noted (I read somewhere) is that it takes less amount of the drug to give better and more effective results, thus saving a lot of money from the drug manufacturers and Govt:'s point of view, specially in times of Bird flue, swine flue and the likes. Also its much cheaper to manufacture too.
Now since we have had different kinds of pandemic or endemic every year like bird, horse, pig flue and the next year an out break (hopefully not) of elephant, Zebra, Dog, Cat etc etc flue all the health department of those countries has to do is send those patches in mail to the recipients home get everyone to stick it on for what ever time.
Next point: for those who have travelled to Africa or South America, you would have to take atleast few needles. Imagine if this could be done via a patch? Imagine how much more tourist those countries will get if people did not have to go through all those needles (I hate needles).

Now lets talk about the drug companies. The total number of people travelling to Africa and South America just from the developed countries X the no: of patches = $$$. Point to be noted is that the drug companies need to use less drug for the same effect.

Children's vaccinations: I lost count how many my son has had in the past few years. So no: of children (world over) X OBJ patches = $$$$$

These are some of the examples...... the applications are endless.

If companies like 3M did the deal with OBJ, imagine their market share and the $ revenue out of it. If 3M does not go ahead, I am damn sure some other big boys would snap up this opportunity. Since 3M has the size and money, they can lobby the drug companies and governments to adopt new methods of vaccination (in this case) and make themselves, OBJ and the shareholders tons of money.
