BOUGAINVILLE: JSB MEETING RESOLUTIONSThe Joint Supervisory Body meeting in Arawa ended on a high note between the national government and the Autonomous Bougainville Government.Prime Minister James Marape was in Arawa on Friday where he co-chaired the meeting with Bougainville President Ishmael Toroama.Prime Minister Marape and President Toroama jointly announced to the media, after the meeting that Bougainville will receive close to K150 million to enhance and strengthen its goals of economic self-reliance.This figure is separate from taxes and other remittances, including over K600 million Restoration Development Grant Bougainville has been after.Other agendas resolved and agreed on, including establishing a new office to coordinate and lead the post-referendum consultations between the two parties, and a complete transfer of the Bougainville Copper Limited shares from the National Government to the ABG.NBC News- Patrick Makis (Arawa)
