    Someone here more qualified would help you out more than I can.

    In my limited dealings with SMSF's you can't transfer Residential property to an SMSF - depends on what your land is classified as. Business Real Property though is a different story as long as it is at arm's length and is at market value. Be careful and probably wait for Sally or Lindso or SMSF Trader to help out and clarify.

    When transferring shares, you crystalise the gain/loss and is payable by your individual return that financial year. The value of the shares transferred on the date would be your amount contributed.
