I've noticed more recently a hellva lot of angst, negative comments against various companies/people/CEO's and even fellow colleague investors (some quite vicious) - generally because the stock is not heading in a direction they like.
Always remember only invest what you can afford to lose in speculative markets otherwise choose more stable ones (that usually offer a dividend)
Also remember that the "stock market is a device for the transfer of wealth from the impatient to the patient". (Warren Buffet)
Lastly, yes even blue chip companies can and do fall over.
