There would be one possibility of reducing that disposal brokerage cost by 50% - if you ever get divorced, since there's no value in buying them from her (because you already have one share of each which is enough to qualify for the SPPs), you'd let your wife dispose of her shares so you dont have to pay for the sale of those :-)
