Dear Warren,
We request a trading halt in the ordinary shares of Transfield Services Limited (TSE) immediately, being from the commencement of trading on Monday 10 November 2008.
The trading halt is requested because TSE is working on incomplete capital management initiatives, which have been the subject of press speculation, and is not yet in a position to announce these initiatives.
TSE requests that the trading halt remain in place until TSE is in a position to make a further announcement to the market. The trading halt would cease before the commencement of trading on Wednesday 12 November 2008. At that time TSE expects to seek a further two day trading halt, which may be followed by a further period of voluntary suspension if necessary.
TSE is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted.
