    Bob2000 yes you are right and Hillary Clinton overall received millions more votes than Trump in an election across the whole country. However the gerrymander that gives a higher weighting to smaller populated states saw Trump win. At least both Barack Obama and bill Clinton had a stronger mandate because they received more votes overall in each of their elections. Trump failed that at the first hurdle.
