Have been thinking the last few weeks on the reasons for angst and bickering of shareholders here on hotcopper.

Aside from the issues of delays in plant and other infrastructure construction and commissioning which is endemic in the mining industry I think the main reason is, much of the current smaller share resister are more speculative inclined and as such crave news hoping that will drive the share price, this is the usual cycle in junior explorers as the only way to drive price is exploration success.

By contrast, MCO are in production irrespective of weather production started last week, this week or next month that is essentially where the company is at.

The contrast is a MD running an exploration company, needs to get the shareprice up to attract new investors and sell the story to raise more capital to keep going. Where MCO has expended most of the necessary cash and now is essentially earning money from the project and don't need to sell the story as much and I'd argue is the reason NG has been less inclined to promote this last year as he has not needed to due to the cap raising @ 46 last year.

If you look at your mid cap producers I don't see any more or less newflow than that of MCO, in fact with twitter and flickr we're pretty well kept up to date via non-conventional methods.
