Thank you to everyone who replied , from what I understand India has many diverse regions to visit , depending on seasons. I like the sound of renting a car (an old British one?) and driving up or down the west coast . Sri Lanka appeals also ... drinking Tea in a plantation...Hope to try the surfing , they say some of the rivermouths are ok... Imodium and a water filter look essential. Himachal Pradesh looks amazing , that would be a must but another trip on its own...
