    Depends what you want to be insured for...most policies will pay for "accidental' death if you get shot by a some one. Hospital cover is included if you got wounded and had to spend time in hospital, or even had to be evacuated to Australia.

    If you go to a country where travel warnings have been released by DEFAT and the recommendation is not to go there, and you do and get caught up in riots and get hurt your insurer may deny a claim as the warnings were already in place.

    If warnings are released while in the country Zurich's travel policy for example will pay to repatriate you or pay accommodation expenses if you cannot get out...most policies I would think would do, but read the PDS if unsure...
