No...no...no... don't buy them from a Travel Agent or be pressured into it in the shop.
(I used to own an Agency & be one - they have a 40% markup...)
The companies they use also sell same policies online for much cheaper.

Try these - have used both many times ( I travelled a huge amount around the world before I was an Agent & afterwards too)
They can differ depending on which country you're going to or length of time away:
    www.1cover.com.au   or www.worldcare.com.au

Also if you ever hire a Car/Camper in Australia never just sign up on the day to pay their ridiculous priced Insurance.
Prebuy a Domestic Travel policy online in Drivers name with a $3000 - $5000 rental waiver limit. If you did have an
accident you may have to wait up to 7 days until they pay you back but if the Bond it is on your credit card (as they insist)
& your Statement doesn't fall due then haven't had to pay anything extra out in the meantime.
Can save you a few hundred dollars & also if car got burgled or your laptop/suitcase stolen it is covered under the
Travel Policy while none of this is under Car Rental Insurance.

Anyway, happy travels!  (As long as you take out Insurance for peace of mind)
