Going to see a massive double digit increase in potash consumption in 2009 now we are on track for a very large Australian 2008 winter crop. Record acres sown to crops = record mining of potash by the nations grain crops. All must be replaced prior to the next season's crop. This also follows a record 2008 summer crop in Qld/NSW. Even more of a gap for RWD to sell product into once it gets this show on the road. Australian consumption of potash could well have grown 100,000 to 200,000 t/annum by the time it gets to production.
The average investing punter fails to understand the demand growth that is occurring in the fertilizer commodities. Deficits will exists for many years to come ...
I'm glad I robustly topped up my potash levels across the farm last year at cheap prices.
