Yep Mikey26, there are a few important clues as to TTE's future direction in that article, namely the words:

Deeper and further away from the centre.

The new 3D technology has clearly indicated something might be down there at the 5,200 ft level, as you have been pointing out - and TTE want to check it out. Other Brazoria County drillings have found oil at similar depths, as indicated in the 'Frio deep - seated salt dome fields' article. So we will never know unless we let the drill bit do the talking.

As Brazoria County is close to or at the current shoreline, so deeper drilling could get interesting results. Some wells in Louisiana have gone down to 17,500 ft and made huge gas discoveries, that I know of. I am guessing that the huge pressure at those depths (3 miles plus down) means gas is more likely than oil but I am no geologist, so that is just a guess and nothing more.

It's going to be an exciting year for TTE.
