Have you ever thought of this theory. Someone bought big at lower prices, sold out at higher prices and in the meantime accumulated a large short position.
This is my theory of what happened at the expense of mum of dad investors. I would tread very carefully with LNG.
The sell off this morning to a 91 cent open followed by a false recovery to 96.5 cents would have tempted a lot of burnt investors. The shorters then turned into overdrive and delivered a killer blow. The odd thing is that their holdings are probably much higher than when they started the spike.
Management had the opportunity to send the shorters packing but instead have fed their hunger for profiting off mum and dad investors.
