MF,Twice I have been on a construction barge in Bass Strait under static tow, during storm force winds, lasted 36 hours. Storm force is one notch below hurricane. The waves were 45 foot with the seventh wave sometime reaching 60 foot and crashing over the heli dech on the oil platform that we were constructing.
I am sure a cyclone would be no fun either, as it is stronger force.
The company would lay any thing they could be on the sea bed for protection. They would retreive it after the storm passed. As under the water is the safest place. They would know 4 days in advance of the approching weather conditions.
