$70 million for a duster

Whilst the Assaka duster was a dissapointment and being under no illusion that TPET has always been a gamble like throwing a 5 sided dice, there must be a glimmer of hope that Trident will be a success. Why would an oil company waste $70 million just on a whim, like pinning the tail on a donkey? Galp have access to all of the latest seismic data interpreted by top geologists (not some mate of a mate down the pub!) and based on the information they have, they must have a certain degree of confidence in the well to blow this sort of cash. In RRLs case with Puntland, I am convinced that they knew from spud it was going to be a duster, that well was drilled for political reasons only.

I cannot see any hidden agenda with this one other than to find oil!
