Grand Mufti has made a submission to retain 18c - his submission asks to add Religious Vilification - only problem with that is Islam isn't a religion - it is a non-secular political ideology

The Grand Mufti's Office has made a submission to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights regarding an inquiry into freedom of speech and s18C of the Racial Discrimination Act.
The Mufti is of the opinion that no changes should be made to the legislation, since Freedom of Speech is already protected and also so that racial discrimination is not watered down.
The submission was supported by various community organizations and leaders who also share the same view.
