Good question JP – straight to core of the issue. My answer is yes and no.

On the 21 July 2004 in response to an asx please explain PNO said trip was discovered in Thermalife (version 1) on or about 1 July 2004. It was discovered by a re-evaluation of scientific, clinical and laboratory studies into thermalife.

    See here for source: http://news.iguana2.com/thebull/ASX/PNO/265332

You might question that given there weren’t ever any scientific, clinical and laboratory studies into thermalife at the time Trip was discovered to be “reanalysed” (the Wright small pilot study of tennis elbow came much later) just how was Trip discovered? Warning bell 1.

    Then in 2005 PNO announced:

“The results of high-performance Liquid Chromatography analysis suggest that Tripeptofen’s analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties may be associated with a single metallic ion group, rather than a complex of many metals. The elimination of other metallic ion groups simplifies the remaining identification tasks and takes MPL another step closer to understanding Tripeptofen’s structure and mode of action”.

This refers to the work of Benson who discovered from Thermalife that the only thing that seemed to penetrate the skin was zinc. That report is somewhere on the mlph web-site from memory.

The problem is that Trip was supposed to be a oligo-peptide complex – not just a single metallic ion. But if it was only a single metallic ion that got through the skin from Thermalife where was Trip – and how did Thermalife work? Warning bell 2.

Finally the company itself doesn’t believe that Trip is the active ingredient in Thermalife (at least in version 2)(final bell ding ding). In its its latest announcement its back to the lab to discover what the active ingredient in Thermalife actually is and how much it weighs.

So in 2004 yes Trip is in Thermalife (version 1) but in 2012 no in version 2 either because it probably never existed to begin with but even if it does exist it dosen’t do anything. All imo only of-course.

    Regards Southoz
