As of Friday it was still 21.6 mill. Now as of yesterday GDXJ holding of WGX has finally fallen... 18.1 mill
So GDXJ trimmed 3.5 mill WGX shares from its holding.
I dont know if the rebalance is done. But you can now understand what happened: the shorters knew this selling would happen. And 3.5 mill (at least) on a thinly traded share (when price was in 1.30s the volume was averaging a bit over 200k per day. So if a fund needs to sell ONE MONTH worth of share sales, then wow.
Assuming GDXJ is done, the shorters should need to cover. (or perhaps already did).
