NiCo (formally known as NiCoFe) has won in his first start overseas.
This is the horse that has been injury plagued the last few years, but has been carefully nurtured by the JRV thoroughbred stables.
Trials in Australia have been promising enough to attract overseas interest and an invitation to race in Hong Kong.
The overseas syndicate were very impressed with NiCo's overall condition and impressive sector times in trials.
Wily trainer Pursell, never one to exaggerate,talked up NiCo's chances in this race which he won by a comfortable 3 lengths followed by Ravenous Capex and Mr. Murrin ran a distant 3rd.
Overseas syndicate have bought part ownership and the JRV stable is preparing NiCo for the spring carnival in Australia later this year.
