I think you can flip the question - why are clinics still keen to join the study so late in the day? (given their primary obligation is to deliver approved treatments, not just run clinical trials)
Could it be they have heard good chatter about the trial and want to be part of it, positioning themselves to become treatment centres if and when trofinetide is approved?
I mean, why participate in a trial when there is only time to dose a handful of participants?
I don't know the answers - I'd just make the point that the addition of new trial centres may not necessarily be bad news.
