kippa, being an ex serviceman, this is not new.When we were deployed into a war zone people got payments, and when they weren't in that zone they got no extra. I dont see why a person on a navy ship just patrolling up and down a semi/non hostile waterways should receive a payment, they all need extra help when they return home especially the ones affected being in a war zone.As far as the medals in your article, that hasnt really changed, you used to get a medal only when serving in certain war zones.As for generals etc getting so much money, im in two minds about that, do you have a problem with a CEO sitting in an office getting millions of dollars a year?,
