    The issue is simple when a owner driver had to put his Haulage rates up 200%, to satisfy the UNION demands
    and push them out of business, you can easily see this was not over safety.

    It was to force every owner driver, or a owner of less than 5 trucks into the unions, and no other reason.

    Because lets be realistic here, if I wanted my goods hauled and had to pay a higher rate, which would be exorbitant, I would
    not get the owner drivers.

    Unions and the large Contractors would have wanted this, so they have complete control. No ifs or Buts.

    I saw this debated in Qld, and in Vic
