Have you driven a lot in the USA? When you enter their freeways you will find it a lot less dangerous than there. And they have plenty of large trucks. It is conventional behaviour there to allow cars to seamlessly enter the freeway . Not the desperate determination from everybody here (especially women drivers!) to speed up to stop you merging onto the freeway at speed which is far less dangerous than crawling onto it at 30kmph!
