Put it to a referendum.
They asked us about gay marriage but this issue is much more important yet we get no say. The major parties don't even discuss it.
IMO our population should remain static with immigration matched to the death rate and birth rate to keep us more or less as we are now.
We should have a limited intake for humanitarian purposes and another small allowance for people who marry someone in another country and want to bring them here.
Other than that we should target inky the brightest and the best to fill the remaining shortfall.
There's more than enough people in Australia right now, we don't gain anything by growing to 30,50,100 or 200 million. Too much environmental damage, overcrowding, etc etc.
Leave it as it is and we will lose control of our population and demographic within a couple of generations.
