I hadn't thought of the purity thing - but a customer could still buy gold from the miner and then get it refined - that at least would give them surety of supply.

As far as I recall the perth mint buys from 2 local miners - I don't know who - and I am only remembering someone saying that who worked at the mint ------??? about 6 months back from memory.

either way - if the article has any truth to it - it looks like the game is changing - I haven't seen any better a signal that this personally.
It mightn't make much of a difference in the next days or weeks or even few months - but it could make a hell of a difference by the end of cal. 12 ------- if it gets traction I could actually see a premium being paid to guarantee supply ----------- hmmmmm, hello, increased demand, buyers going to the back door, fewer reliable discoveries? fml coming on with 200k plus p/a, massive exp. potential? --------- well, it makes for interesting thoughts. Hell of a year perhaps to land an elephant.
