It’s the SiO2. It is by no means desirable at the levels discovered so far and is way above the better mined resources in this land.
High silica in the steel making process is a real pain to deal with. It becomes very corrosive and starts a snowballing problem(s) that no one wants.
Sure, wash screen and blend this stuff when all the good Fe is turned into cars, which incidentally no one wants anyway.
By all means, correct me if I’m wrong.
