Howard was PM in economic good times....good timing to get top job. He certainly took alot of guns out of the system. Criminals will get guns no matter what. Telstra being privatised was a good move it was a highly inefficient employer. Groups of Telstra/Telecom workers sat around in pubs after 12 because they had done their allocated work for the day. I had plenty of friends who did just that all over Australia. I worked in Importing and Exporting and the truth is Australia got less than 10 containers off the wharf per hour back in 70/80's. 35% of the work force in Fremantle turned up to collect their pay...but did not actually work. We won't go into all the theft on the wharves. US at the same time got 25 containers per hr of the wharf at about half the pay of the Wharfies in Australia. But the MUA are strong and still receive crazy pay packets for the work they do. You need to cut the glib posts and do some research. But we now know that you are a staunch Leftard.
